The presence of God

“You have before you the example of Our Lady, to whom we pray with particular devotion in [the] month of May. Like her, never tire of ‘leaving,’ of going in haste to encounter and bring the presence of God (cf. Lk, 1:39). She brings the presence of God because she is in profound communion with him.” — Pope Francis

Reflection: Today the Church celebrates Saints Joachim and Anne, the parents of Mary of Nazareth. Theirs was the faith that first cooperated with the Holy Spirit in nurturing Mary for profound communion with God. It was in their house that Mary received God’s invitation to become the mother of Jesus. They raised Mary to follow God wherever that may lead, including to her kinswoman Elizabeth. Who has nurtured you in faith? How are you helping others grow in communion with God? How do you “go with haste” to share how God is working in your life?
